Orange Ca. - Kids Corner Playroom
Tanya and Martin live in a lush secluded area in Orange Ca. both are professionals and work as doctors. After Tanya had her 3rd child, she decided to be a stay at home mom. Running around balancing 3 kids all under the age of 8. Became a juggling act while running a busy medical practice. This constant balancing act created a build-up of toys, books, and paperwork that was scattered throughout the living and dining area. Their home was being taken over by 3 of their kiddos. She and her husband Martin decided to take back their space and seek professional help. They both felt they had hit a wall with ideas and were in need of immediate solutions. Luckily a friend of hers referred me to her. After our initial Design Work Session, we all agreed on an addition to the side of the house. To save cost we decided to add on a sunroom using pre-fabricated walls. Her fear of this pre-fab addition would come across as cold and not feel it was apart of the house. I helped to assure her that the cost that she would be saving could be applied towards built-ins and meaningful pieces that will help to warm up the space. I also suggested updating the flooring in the living and dining area to match the tiles picked for the addition. This touch was intentional to create flow from one room to another towards a seamless transition. After 4 months the project was complete! Now they enjoy quite date nights in their re-claimed living room while the kids are working on projects in the next room. Cheers to a win for Mom and Dad!
