Laguna Beach Ca - Coastal Entryway.

This Laguna Beach Coastal home belongs to a busy family of 4. Mary and Vince both have busy careers in the financial world. They are up early in the morning to get two kiddos out the door. Chance is 5 and Levi is 3, both of which are very much your boy’s boy. Busy and curious and have lots of rocks and special treasures they find from their favorite park, Bluebird Park. With all of their needs as a busy family, they needed a place to keep things tidy. Chance with his backpack, Mary had her purse and Vince his briefcase. Every day would be a pile of bags and knick-knacks that built up over time. Mary wanted something inviting but also functional. Other parts of the house where previously re-done and updated. The entryway was not a priority at the time they moved in. They grew tired of the oddly placed electrical socket smack dab in the middle of the wall at eye level and not enough lighting. They wanted to create a flow from the entryway to the rest of the remodeled kitchen and living room.

At our initial meeting, I suggested smoothing out the walls and re-painting. The ceiling was quite low and the heavy texture and the yellow paint felt like someone was screaming at you. The feel did not flow as nicely as you would expect in a beautiful home located in one of the most desirable places in Orange County. They agreed with my suggestions and did just that. We removed the weirdly placed electrical socket, smooth coated the walls and painted a much more soothing color that flowed much better with the rest of the house. I intentionally made selections that would benefit their lifestyle. a cabinet that was not only appealing but provided a shelf in each cabinet to contain each family members bag. A small ottoman to accommodate a need to tie their shoes or simply take a break from a long day at work.
