This was my first time attending one of the largest furniture and décor markets in the world to discover the 2018 Home Design Trends at High Point Market. I was excited to see the latest and greatest and meet my fellow designers from across the country. This particular market is at High Point North Carolina, known as the High Point Market. The city rolled out the red carpet for over 70,000 attendees. The market takes over the entire city and covers 10 million square feet of exhibition space with roughly 2000 exhibitors in 180 buildings. Whew, that was a lot to tell you already! Now imagine how much I discovered in 7 days. I was inspired and excited to discover new lines to inject into my projects.

Ughh.. what do you do now?
Las Vegas Market – Winter Market
As a designer and interior stylist, I travel to a select handful of trade shows every year. One of the best shows is the Las Vegas Market -Winter Market. I was lucky to be a part of the Soft Design Lab. This Las Vegas Red Carpet tour is lead by Jackie Von Tobel and her daughter Angelica and 25 interior designers were selected to be a part of the tour. We received A-list treatment when visiting various showrooms – some of which are my all time favorites! We visited Jaipur, Palaceck, Arteriors and more. We received insider information regarding their design processes and met some amazing talents such as Nikki Chu, Christopher Kennedy, and Kirk Nix. Here are my Las Vegas Market Interior Furnishings and Decor Finds!
3 Reasons to say “so long to neutrals” and abandon the colorless look. Oh, I better get politically correct here – the “neutral color palette”.
Can I get an AMEN? I mean thank goodness another year has past and we are finally seeing the light. The design community HAS FINALLY realized its time to move on from Neutrals. I’m excited to get back into color! Nice deep saturated colors that have some SOUL and some cheerful pops to add delight! Honestly, when I walk into an ALL neutral toned room, I feel as if I’m flat lining. No spark, No life, No energy! Why in the world does anyone want to feel that? Granted some people feel at peace with neutrals, but I’m hoping they add white rather than all of the muted dreary colors like gray and brown. White and black are the ONLY saving grace of that color scheme!
